This charming little wine shop on 15th Ave East is often staffed by poet and wine aficionado Doug Nufer, who is more than happy to fill your request for a good, local bottle of something delicious for under for $15. And he'll be straight with you about what's worth a few extra few bucks, and what's not.

On Saturday, this Capitol Hill bottle store (two doors down from the North Hill Bakery) is holding an informal tasting from 2-4 p.m, to help you plan your Turkey Day drinking menu. The free tasting features both local finds, as well one Pinot from Alsace.

The bottles up for sampling (complete with prices, so you know what you're getting into) are listed below:

2007 Jezebel Blanc, Willamette Valley $14

2005 Walnut City Wineworks, Pinot Gris, Willamette Valley $16

2005 Cherry Hill Winery, Papillon, Estate Pinot Noir, Willamette Valley $18

2005 Schoenheitz Pinot Noir, Herrenreben, Alsace $23

2006 Cottonwood Winery, Marina Piper Pinot Noir, Willamette Valley $28

Saturday, November 22, 2-4 p.m.

European Vine Selections, 522 15th Ave. E., CAPITOL HILL
