Free Wine Saturday aka Shopping Pit Stops

Every wine shop has a free tasting, though most happen during the week. Some places are smart and kind enough to offer their free sips on Saturdays. Thank them kindly.

Champion Wine Cellars

108 Denny Way, 11am to 5pm

Get your local on with wines from Mt. Baker Vineyards, hopefully they'll have one or both of the Lat Harvest Pinot Gris and Viognier. I always find the whites from this winery super fun, except the barrel select (oak makes me sneezy). And don't skip the Siegerebbe!

Esquin

2700 Fourth Ave. South, 1pm to 4pm

The theme is Thanksgiving wines, paired with holiday appropriate food.

Delaurenti Specialty Food & Wine

1435 First Ave., 2pm to 4pm

To be determined wines from A&B Imports. Specializing in Spanish and South African (some of which I've written about HERE), you're a winner either way. Plus, a few ounces of wine is proven to help you navigate the market on a Saturday.

AND! If you're on your way up to the hill tonight (THURSDAY), check out Vino Verite (208 Boylston Ave. E.) and the wines of Owen-Sullivan Winery. This crop of wines was made in part by my good friend Darryn O'Shea (now of O'Shea Scarborough). You gotta love a winery with a wine named Brick Shit House (or BSH, for the pleasing of the BATF).
