You may find this image of two delicious tacos slightly misleading, since they're from a trip my friend and I took to the taco truck Asadero, on Rainier Ave., last fall. While this post is about a new taco stand in Wallingford, their tacos look much the same.
And now, the news: there's an authentic taco stand in Wallingford, reportedly on 45th across from Hollywood Video. I don't know the name because my tacos were delivered to me on Capitol Hill from a friend who wasn't paying attention. He did pay attention to the various salsas the stand offered though, bringing 4 types back: a smoky chipotle, a hot red, a hot green, and a cool cilantro. The tacos, wrapped in two soft flour tortillas apiece, included a generous sprinkling of cilantro and a few slices of radish. I squeezed a lime on each one before adding some salsa and the combination of flavors was amazing. The carne asada was good but my money's on the pork. They're going to put Taco Time out of business.
If anyone knows the name of this place, speak up! Otherwise I'll report back soon.
