[Monday, September 1] If Jack Johnson gets flak for his feel-good campfire tunes, it’s strange that Xavier Rudd doesn’t invite the same Type A condescension. It would make sense: Rudd carved out a decent reputation for himself as a barefoot, bleached-hair beach bum who wants only to shred mad waves, and play some music too. Like Johnson, he’s apparently a better musician than he is a surfer. But where Johnson plays sing-a-longs, Rudd plays with his soul, bestowing any venue, no matter its size, with the intimacy of a beach barbeque. Fisher Green Stage, 9:15 p.m. Listen to Choices.
