Tomato Battle in Seattle 2012

Those not afraid of seeing how catsup gets made converged at Pyramid Alehouse in downtown Seattle Saturday to hurl thousands of pounds of past-ripe roma tomatoes at one another. Part of a national event, the Tomato Battle uses only fruit previously marked for disposal, organizers say. All photos by Chona Kasinger
