Night of the Steampunk (NSFW)

1 of 16

Hundreds donned their corsets, top hats, and curled mustaches at the Steampunk Exhibition Ball on Saturday. This year's ball, held at the Museum of History and Industry, celebrated both Seattle's Victorian history and its modern steampunk culture, which revolves around the inspired genre of fiction set in a world where old-school steam power meets science fiction (See "Wild Wild West" or "The League of Extraordinary Gentlemen" if you need an ultra-mainstream example). The event, which invited a variety of musicians and burlesque dancers to perform, served as a benefit for the Center for Sex Positive Culture, a non-profit organization dedicated to providing "a safe place for adults to explore their sexuality."
