The Grizzled Mighty spent 2012 building up a reputation as one of Seattle's most rackety, high-octane rock bands. The duo of Ryan Granger and Whitney Petty will follow up their 2011 self-titled LP with a 5-song EP called Thick Hand Grip, to be released on Tuesday, February 5. (They'll be playing a release show at Neumos on Friday, February 1--details, and extreme poster art, after the jump).

The first single from Thick Hand Grip is "Stuck In My Head," a sludgy track featuring thick and muddy guitar riffs offset by Petty's splashy cymbals and Granger's perfectly rusty vocals. The oft-repeated chorus--"You got me running around/I got you stuck in my head"--is catchy as hell. It's raw and rusty but sounds noticeably more sophisticated than the band's previous material.
