Memory

Out now, Ephemerata

Though Adam Dishart--who calls his one man band Books on Fate--hails from San Francisco, his debut full length Memory is the first release on new Seattle imprint Ephemerata. Recalling the Bay Area's expansive, urban cityscape, shades of Echo and the Bunnymen and sweeping new wave synths nestle into dark pop song structures reminiscent of The National; tracks like "Carnival Lights", with propulsive drums and brooding lyrics, and "Asleep on the Phone," are dead ringers for the latter.
