Macklemore's second verse on the beautiful ballad "Same Love" from his and Ryan Lewis' big budget new album The Heist (reviewed here) begins "If I was gay, I would think hip hop hates me/have you read the Youtube comments lately?" As with any internet-housed video, there's really no point in scrolling through the thousands of nonsensical user comments unless you enjoy being properly befuddled, or depressed about the general prospect of informed social discussion in the coming decades. That one line preempts everything below it, though, so feel free to scroll the first page or so if you're a fan of irony.

The video is extremely well done, also. Directed by local video wiz Jon Jon Augustavo, and Lewis himself, it follows the arc of a male protagonist's life from start to finish in touching fashion. This is one of the team's finest moments.
