In this week's Short List, my Editor's Pick of the week goes to tonight's Grass Widow show at Chop Suey. The San Francisco trio released their newest album, Internal Logic, back in May; the record debuts a spacier side of Grass Widow. The playful preview video above shows the ladies' creation process: writing songs on the beach, scientifically crafting the record in a lab, then heading back to beach.
There's also this awesome Twilight Zone-esque black and white music video for Internal Logic's lead track, "Goldilocks Zone." The video was directed by Grass Widow's extremely productive Hannah Lew--all told, it's the eighth music video she's directed in 2012. (Frankie Rose's "Gospel/Grace," King Tuff's "Alone & Stoned," and, my personal favorite, Deep Time's "Clouds," to name a few).
Tonight's show starts at 8 p.m., there's a $10 cover, the Viennese girl-rock duo Plaided and locals Wimps will open.
