Slug From Atmosphere Big Ups Scarface, Me, In This Edition of "Your Favorite Rapper's Favorite Rapper"

Ant (left), and Slug (right) produce-ing hits
Your Favorite Rapper's Favorite Rapper is a semi-regular feature on Reverb, in which we track down some of [y]our favorite MCs/rap artists and ask them to blab about their personal favorites.

Minneapolis pals Slug (Sean Daley) and Ant (Anthony Davis) have enjoyed a gradual ascent into the mainstream consciousness since their 1997 debut Overcast! hit the scene. Rhymesayers, the group's home label, has also become a major presence on the indie-rap scene over the years, cherry-picking talent from across the country (including more than a few local stars) to overwhelmingly positive results. Daley, who will take the stage in front of a sold out crowd at the Showbox with the rest of Atmosphere this Saturday recently took the time to big up his favorite rapper, me, and you. Enjoy.

If you had to pick one (which you do), who is your favorite rapper of all time?

Currently, it is Scarface.

What makes him so cool?

He's the ONLY emcee who's been doing this since the 80's who has never fell off. Not even once. Not even a little fall off.

What is his best album and why?

Mr. Scarface Is Back. It's his first album, and I'm pretty sure that industry rule #4081 is that your first album is always your best.

Nod to any Northwest artists on your radar?

Big ups to everyone in Seattle. All of the artists. Even people who are not artists. Big ups everyone. Big up yourself!!!
