Reverb's own John Roderick and Canadian singer-songwriter Kathleen Edwards (aka Justin Vernon's girlfriend) co-wrote "A Soft Place To Land" on the singer's 2012 release Voyageur, and the song has been nominated for an Echo, a Canadian songwriting prize. The award aims to: "Recognize the best in new Canadian independent music by letting you - independent music fans - vote for the winners."
With past nominees like Arcade Fire, Caribou, Chad VanGaalen, and Wolf Parade in the fold, Reverb's snarkiest columnist (and ubiquitous local collaborator: Shelby Earl, Visqueen, Ken Stringfellow, etc.) stands in distinguished company--and a strong winning chance.
Any member of the public can vote once a day until October 10th; hear the nominated tune after the jump.
