Blondie supports its new album, Panic of Girls, with a co-headlining show with Devo, Friday, at Chateau Ste. Michelle.
A few weeks ago Josh Kerns and I interviewed Blondie frontwoman Debbie Harry for our radio show, Seattle Sounds, to talk about the band's set with Devo, this Friday at Chateau Ste. Michelle. Here's what she had to say about the state of the presidential race:
"Politics sucks! It's deplorable, you know? Why don't they just get guns and shoot each other. It's horrible what (the candidates) do. It's character assassination constantly. It's all a pack of lies. I sort of get to the point where, "who can you believe?" I wish it was funnier. It doesn't strike me as being funny anymore.
I do think that even though it looks like, you know, Obama hasn't done much for the economy ... we are still here and we are still surviving. And people in this country live very well, very, very well, compared to the rest of the world. I think that most people in this country don't really realize that. Even people that are in deep financial trouble live better than most people in other countries."
Seattle Sounds every Saturday at 7 p.m. on 97.3 KIRO FM.
