With summer temperatures finally heating up, there's no better soundtrack for the sultry nights ahead than a bit of Cajun-spiced Zydeco. This particular genre of American folk doesn't get nearly as much love around here as in Portland, where bands like Cedric Watson & Bijou Creole and Cory Ledet headline the Waterfront Blues Festival, but if you've ever wanted to practice your Creole accent in good Seattle company, head over to the Royal Room tonight and catch what's been billed as a "super-group of American roots musicians."

This Portland-based seven-piece string band comprises the talents of vocalist and accordionist Jesse Lége, Joel Savoy--who's worked with legendary American masters Steve Earle and T. Bone Burnett--and Caleb Klauder, who started off in Calobo with members of the Decemberists and has since gone on to front numerous Americana bands around the Northwest, including the Foghorn Stringband, with a dusty twang and clean, country sounds.

Dust off your boots and grab your favorite dancing partner--this is a show you roots lovers won't want to miss.

Cajun Country Revival take the stage at The Royal Room at 9:30 p.m. The Tallboys open at 8 p.m., and tickets are $12 advance, $15 at the door.
