Long Island Electrical Systems--or L.I.E.S.--is a Brooklyn-based electronic label founded in 2010 and run by Ron Morelli out of his Greenpoint apartment. In both form and content, L.I.E.S. pursues a rough-hewn, DIY brand of house/techno classicism, releasing records as limited-edition white labels and favoring the raw sounds of analog drum machines and vintage synths. Notable releases include Legowelt's excellent Sark Island Acid EP, Steve Moore's Zero Point Field, and releases from Steve Summers as well as Moretti's Two Dogs in a House. All of which is great, but the important thing is that it's going to be 88 degrees and sunny this Thursday and L.I.E.S. is doing a label showcase party here on a (motherfucking) boat!
Presented by local crew High & Tight, the showcase will feature live sets from Steve Summers and Svengalisghost, as well as a DJ set from label boss Moretti. For a taste of what that's like, check his recent Boiler Room in the video above. Tickets are $20 adv/$25 at the dock; the Islander Yacht boards at 1611 Fairview Ave E at 7pm, departs at 8, and docks 11. More info here.
