According to local wisdom, we can officially welcome the arrival of summer now that the 4th of July is finally behind us. "I don't know what it is about the 4th of July but it does seem to be a turning point for those of us in the northwest," says KOMO news meteorologist Steve Pool. "Typically...we have to wait until July 5th or 6th for the sun to really get rolling."
Now that we have a weatherman's--and mother nature's--full endorsement of the season, there's no reason you should be indoors any longer than you have to be during these few short months. If you work downtown and can steal away for the lunch hour, be sure to check out downtownseattle.com for the full lineup of their Out To Lunch Concert Series. Things kick off next Wednesday (7/11) with Zoe Muth and the Lost High Rollers and the series includes artists and bands like LeRoy Bell & His Only Friends, Vicci Martinez, Portland Cello Project, Pokey LaFarge, and many others until the end of September. Best part is it's all free, so brown bag it those days and get a little more sunshine out of the workday.
