City Arts Fest -- the annual arts & music event held at multiple venues around town -- expands to four days in its third season, and will include performances by David Bryrne and St. Vincent and many others, running from October 17 to 20. That said, lemme just say:
-- David Byrne slays. I still have his phenomenal 2008 album, Everything That Happens Will Happen Today, on heavy rotation. Seriously, how many guys who got their start at CBGB's during the club's halcyon days are still making essential records?
-- Byrne will be playing at the 5th Avenue Theater, which the fest tastefully employed in its inaugural season. There aren't enough rock shows in this downtown treasure.
-- More bands will be announced at the end of the July.
-- All-access wristbands and single-show tickets go on sale Aug. 2.
