Though local word slitherer Onry Ozzborn and emerging Chicago beat giant Alex Zavala put out a free album (Believeyoume) in late 2009, and an album's-worth of b-sides a year later (Cornucopia), their upcoming album, ANX is teeeechnically their sophomore full-length (2010's Vessel being the first), but that doesn't make those other releases any less of a significant piece to their puzzle. Though much of their previous product as Dark Time Sunshine was recorded around the same time during massively productive recording sessions, each release managed to have its own identity, and was expertly packaged accordingly.

"A Walk in the Park" is the first single a b-side from ANX that's available on a new sampler put out by their label, Fake Four, and it sounds like they've given themselves time to breathe. While it maintains DTS's plush atmospherics and crackly beat pop, the song feels more laid-back, on both the vocal and production fronts, like they have a bit less to prove, and took their foot off the gas a bit. It's all very fulfilling. Stream it below, and mark your calendar for July 21st, when they take the stage at the Crocodile for their album release show.

Bonus: check out the mini-doc, "The Making of Dark Time Sunshine 'ANX'" after the jump. It's fucking fantastic.
