"Cafe Racer Is Like Home for Many, and the People There Are Like Family"

Last night I got a message from Luke Bergman, a regular at Cafe Racer -- the scene of one of yesterday's horrific shootings -- and the leader of the cafe's "Racer Sessions" performances. Here, he provides his initial thoughts on the situation. He also sent over a video (above) featuring two of the victims who were killed: Drew Keriakedes and Joe Albanese.

Luke Bergman:

"I've been asked to describe the way which the racer community supports each other, i don't know if I can. It's completely devastating, it doesn't seem real. I don't know if I can describe how much those people and that place mean to SO many people in the neighborhood, the music/art community and beyond. Cafe Racer is like home for many, and the people there are like family. The community there is incredibly supportive and welcoming and so excited about weird music and art and hanging out with each other. This is truly horrific."
