Back in October, the hip-as-shit British electropop outfit Metronomy, who were touring in support of their 2011 Mercury Prize-nominated record The English Riviera, cancelled a scheduled Seattle date at Neumos, rescheduled for April 9, and then, annoyingly, cancelled again, this time without a rescheduling. (The Neumos website for some time now has read: "Mon.Apr.09.12 Metronomy - (CANCELLED AGAIN)"). What's with the wishy-washiness?
It turns out the band may have had a good reason for all the reshuffling of schedules--they've since joined the current Coldplay arena tour as openers and will finally appear in Seattle this month on Wednesday, April 25 at the KeyArena--and this time I think they're 100% likely to show. Which is a good thing--not only will the KeyArena crowd be great exposure for the band, but their sharp dance-pop tunes are sure to win over fans of Coldplay's poppier new sound.
