??Sip & Spin is a weekly feature on Reverb that asks local DJs what's in their crates and what's in their cup. This week, Fourthcity/Stop Biting/Trashy Trash-affiliated DJ Introcut (aka Chop Suey booker Matt Moroni) tells us about beefing up his collection of soul 45s and how he likes his Bushmills (neat, duh).

    Where are you spinning?

I've been a resident DJ at Stop Biting, every Tuesday night at the LoFi Performance Gallery, for seven years, along with the current roster of WD4D, Zac Hendrix, AC Lewis, Eardrumz, SeanCee, Same Dna, Ohmega Watts, ShoNuph, Element, and MadMax. Stop Biting has two rooms of music--the back room caters to the breakers and the dance-party vibe, with MCs such as Suntonio Bandanaz, SAGE NOMAD, and Orbitron hosting and freestyling, while the front lounge has styles from future beats/ electronic, dubstep, disco, hip-hop, house, reggae/dancehall, funk/soul 45s, etc, to give the night variety for the listeners.

I'm also a part of a DJ crew called TRASHY TRASH. The Trashy Trash DJs are Same Dna, Claude Balzac, Mad Max, Colin Jones (PDX), Freaky Outty (PDX), Nate Detroit (PDX), Al Nightlong, Kalaka, Maxx Bass (PDX), and myself. We do a collaboration with Coco Madrid and the SNAP! '90s Dance Party crew out of Portland. SNAP! happens once a month at the Holocene in PDX, and Seattle SNAP! happens every couple of months at the Lo-Fi (in the past, we've also done parties at the Sunset Tavern and Chop Suey). Trashy Trash is a lot of fun. You're guaranteed a drunken night of partying and dancing your ass off.

What records are you digging lately?

I've lately been collecting lots of old funk, disco, boogie, '80s electro, and modern soul records. Trying to beef up my crates and my 45 collection. I'm also part of a local record label called Fourthcity, so I've been listing to a lot of our new releases and free downloads: AbsoluteMadman's new EP, Please Don't Talk To Me; WD4D & Suttikeeree's new project, The After School EP pt. 2. I'm featured and co-produced the single from the EP, "Satisfaction," which you can download at http://fourthcityrecords.bandcamp.com.

    More after the jump...

Other artists I've been listening to lately: Truckasauras, Suttikeeree, Mexicans with Guns, Take, Slayer, Krystal Klear, Ice T, James Brown, The Spits, DJ Cam, Salva, Om Unit, Starkey, Ital Tek, Dead Kennedys, Illija Rudman, Kleeer, Daedelus, B Bravo, 214, Nocando, Two Fingers, Depeche Mode, Dean Martin, Busy, Devonwho, Dibia$e, Giorgio Moroder, Luke Vibert, Copy, Dropping Gems label, Car Crash Set label, OC Notes, Graintable, The Cars, Foscil, Specs One, Saafir, Awol One, Ceschi, Mobb Deep, EPMD, EGADZ, SBTRKT, Mount Eerie, Hood, Secret Frequency Crew, Flexions, Steve Spacek, Paul White, and a few more.

What's your drink of choice and where are you drinking it?

My drinks of choice are Bushmills whiskey neat, Spicy Bloody Mary, Trumer Pilsner or other good German biers, Duval, and Olympia. My favorite bars in Seattle are the Lo-Fi, Chop Suey, and the Stumbling Monk.

Stop Biting hosts special guests Hideki, Eugene Fauntelroy, Tyler Swan, and OC Notes on Sept. 27, and hosts a special horror-sample themed Halloween "Beat Makers" edition on Oct. 25; Trashy Trash DJs perform at the Seattle Weekly Reverb Festival on October 8.
