. . . and a thought just struck me: Jeff Bridges and his band, which is brilliantly named the Abiders, are going to be at Chateau Ste. Michelle on August 28, playing songs from Bridges' self-titled country album (out on Blue Note Records Aug. 16). That very same week, just two days prior, Kenny Rogers--or "Kenney Rogers," as he's billed on the Tulalip Casino website--is also going to be in town, playing a concert at the casino on August 26.
People of Seattle, I ask you, how awesome would it be if those two old dudes joined forces during their time in the Pacific Northwest and re-enacted the above iconic Jackie Treehorn production? Rogers singing and Bridges dancing, naturally. No, it has nothing to do with Bridges' current foray as a Crazy Heart-inspired country singer, but it's obvious by the name he chose for his backing band that he's still got room for Lebowski throwbacks.
This is me volunteering to put on a Viking cap and play the part of Maude.
