The Capitol Hill vintage boutique + labelCairo will be hosting its first ever Vibrations Festival on August 20 at the Volunteer Park Amphitheater. The festival will be headlined by two out-of-town acts--San Francisco-based, Kill Rock Stars-signed girl group Grass Widow and Portland funk duo Purple & Green. Grass Widow and Purple & Green will be supported by a super-strong cast of local artists who'll be familiar to those who frequent Cairo shows:
Charles Leo Gebhardt IV
Of the festival, Cairo booker Ian Judd says, "VIBRATIONS is the result of our undying love for the insanely inspiring music scene in Seattle right now, complemented by a couple of our favorite regional acts, who seem to share a similar vision or vibe. Curating/putting the whole thing together has been hectic, but I've always wanted to do something like this and it's paying off b i g t i m e."
The festival will begin at 2 p.m. on August 20, which is a Saturday, and it's completely free.
