If I were being snarky, I'd say that Ladytron should've played Decibel Festival (as announced today) no less than six years ago, when they put out their last good album (Witching Hour, which still wasn't as good as their early-'00s landmarks 604 and Light & Magic). But then I went and read this review of their recent greatest-hits retrospective and listened to a bunch of their old stuff on my hard drive, and got thoroughly excited to see them anyway, 2011 and all.
THEN I noticed that they have another album coming out in September, Gravity the Seducer, and I tried to go listen to it, but my janky-ass laptop can't seem to hold a decent wireless connection for the length of a single pop song, so no go there. But anyway, this is the point: It doesn't matter whether or not the new album, or the one before that, are much good, really (although I'll hold out hope), because Ladytron have a pile of just fucking classic songs. Also, I've never seen them, so although I hear they're kind of frosty live, I'm stoked.
