Yesterday, Chicago's Lollapalooza announced its 2011 lineup--this year's three-day festival will run August 5-7, and the big headliners are Eminem, Foo Fighters, Coldplay, and Muse. Other big scores include Cee-Lo Green, the Cars, My Morning Jacket, Deadmau5, Girl Talk, and Kid Cudi.
Huge names, all of them, but locally the question is who (if anyone) will be representing our fair city at the legendary festival?
The answer: Just one band, Fences. At least someone from Seattle's going, although our numbers are down from last year's Lollapalooza, when TWO Seattle bands played (Soundgarden and Minus the Bear). In terms of local labels, Barsuk's Phantogram and Maps & Atlases will also be playing.
Fences, who we're sure will do us proud, is set to play alongside those headliners as well as a slew of other indie-rock favorites like Crystal Castles, Smith Westerns, Best Coast, Titus Andronicus, and many, many more. Check out the full lineup on Lollapalooza's official website.
**UPDATE: Seattle vocalist/beatmaker/hip hop artist Captain Midnite, I have grievously overlooked you.
