Robin Pecknold Tweets Three Free New Songs, Including a Duet With Ed Droste

No, it's not Helplessness Blues. In fact, Pecknold specifically states, via Twitter, that he doesn't even categorize these as Fleet Foxes songs. Instead, Pecknold's new EP, basically titled Three Songs, is composed of what he describes as "pretty mellow songs" that he recorded in L.A. a couple weeks ago. This morning, Pecknold tweeted a link to MegaUpload, where you can download all three songs for free.

"I'm Losing Myself" is a duet featuring Ed Droste of Grizzly Bear (beautiful harmonies, natch).

"Derwentwater Stones" is a solo Pecknold original.

"Where Is My Wild Rose" is a lovely cover of a song by New Zealand folk singer Chris Thompson (not the guy from Manfred Mann).

Your next chance to see Pecknold is, of course, at one of two Fleet Foxes shows at the Moore on May 2 and 3.

Oh, wait, they're both sold out.
