Maps & Atlases' noodly music is intricate enough as it is, but just for fun, the British band Breton, under the brand bretonLABS, created a remix of Maps' "Living Decorations," adding a thrumming beat and a clearer focus around Dave Davison's unique vocals. Listen:

The band must have liked the remixed sound, because now they're doing a Perch Patchwork Remix Competition, inviting any old person to remix one of three songs from their Barsuk debut, Perch Patchwork.

At http://www.mapsandatlases.org/remix/, the band has provided the stems for three of their jams--"Living Decorations," "Carrying the Wet Wood," and, my personal Perch favorite, "Pigeon." Use the stems, make a banging remix, and drop it into the Sound Cloud Drop Box on the same page by the end of this month, which is March. Five winners will be chosen to receive a shitload of Maps & Atlases gear, and the five winners will also appear on a forthcoming digital EP.

For further inspiration, check out Maps & Atlases' recently released music video for "Living Decorations." It's full of cool jive.
