Sports--of the Canadian Variety--Are NOT Playing the Croc on Tuesday. Other Sports: It's Never Too Early for a Name Change

This is NOT the band playing the Crocodile on Tuesday.
Apologies to local electronic band Sports, who are opening for Austra on Tuesday at the Crocodile. It won't be this much more popular Canadian rock band of the same name that formed in 2007.

After some intense Google searching and borderline Internet stalking, we found that the Sports from Seattle do indeed have a website in need of serious updating, a Facebook page and an insanely difficult to find MySpace. But best of all, a link to their BandCamp has been added to the Crocodile's show page so that no further confusion ensues.

So here are some new band-name suggestions, because deep down we really are rooting for Sports--again, the Seattle one!--to conquer the world.

Seattle Sports: That was easy!

Not That Canadian Band: Definitely has a nice ring to it.

The Band Formerly Known as Sports: Or just go by an unpronounceable symbol. Not very original, but it gets the job done.

Clay Bennett and David Stern Stole Our Name: Those guys stole the Sonics, so what's keeping them from your band's original name?

Sports: That Band Seattle Weekly Thought Was the Other Bastard Sports: Maybe a bit long.

But really, Sports, we wish you success and a great show at the Crocodile. And we really hope you'll consider changing the name of your band. Maybe Google it first this time.
