PUSA & Macklemore Now at War Over Who Can Sell the Most Nights at the Showbox"/>
Macklemore and the Presidents of the United States of America are the Elton John and Billy Joel of Seattle, with the Showbox at the Market being their Madison Square Garden. The venue of record has announced that the Presidents have added a Feb. 20 show to their annual residency over Presidents Day weekend. Tickets go on sale Thursday.
Macklemore has three sold-out shows of his own in the weeks following. It's time for this completely fabricated rivalry to take the natural next step, and for the bands to join forces for their own "Face to Face" series of Showbox performances.
It makes too much sense. Their catalogues were made for each other. Mack can turn "Lump" into a statement about the toxic political atmosphere in his living room. The Presidents can turn "The Town" into a cupcake- and donut-eating competition. Then they can all hug it out over a teary-eyed rendition of "Naked and Famous" to close out the night.
Make it happen, y'all.
