It's been a while since we've heard anything from Jesse Sykes. But it's been busy times for Seattle's alt-country siren.
After making the north end of Seattle her permanent home for years, she's now splitting her time between here and Iowa. Between trips, she recently finished recording her new album, Marble Son, her first full-length since 2007's Like, Love, Lust & the Open Halls of the Soul on Seattle's Barsuk Records. She'll release the record in Europe next month.
As for a U.S. release, her manager, Jeff Wooding, says things are a bit up in the air.
After three records with Barsuk, Sykes is now a free agent, and Wooding says they are discussing U.S. release options with a number of labels, including Barsuk. Wooding says the record should be released in the States this summer.
