Sub Pop Announces Deal With The Head and the Heart, Seattle's Favorite Smooth Indie Band

As Sub Pop closes the book on 2007's most-talked-about Seattle band, they've announced details of their relationship with 2010's. On Record Store Day, April 16, the label will reissue the self-titled release by The Head and the Heart, the most popular of Seattle's growing herd of easy-listening indie acts like Hey Marseilles and Grand Hallway.

Even without the aid of one of the nation's most respected independent labels, the Americana-curious band sold 8,000 copies of their self-titled debut, has shared bills with Dave Matthews and Vampire Weekend, were featured on NPR, and sold out local venues, including Friday's set at Neumos. The band is spending the winter and spring months on the road with Dr. Dog and The Walkmen.
