Continuing their push for an early-spring West Coast tour, wrapping with an appearance at SXSW that officially began with the release of long-time favorite "Chief Seattle," State of the Artist launched a new video series today offering a behind-the-scenes glimpse at recording a new album and their run at the Austin festival. Titled South by Northwest, the first episode details their show with Mad Rad and Katie Kate at The Jet Bar and Grill in Mill Creek--and sets a down-to-earth tone, including rocking concert footage and admissions that sometimes everything just doesn't go your way.
Your next chance to see SOTA live--where, by the way, most things do go very right--is this Friday at the Hard Rock Cafe, with Striking Back and Gran Rapids. The show starts at 9 p.m., and tickets run $7 in advance or $10 at the door.
South x Northwest is one band's road to recognition via the bubbling scene of Northwest Hip-Hop. We are State Of The Artist, last year we put out our debut album and met a ton of people. We want to give something back to those who have been supporting us through it all. Here is a chance to follow us as we develop a new record and tour down the West Coast to play at SXSW in 2011. Check back for new installments of this weekly series that will follow us through days in the studio, on stage, on tour, and whatever else we catch on camera. Who knows what is going to happen?
