Macklemore & Ryan Lewis, in "Doubly Unprecedented" Move, Sell Out Second Showbox Night in Less Than 48 Hours"/>
If anyone in Seattle's hip-hop community is unstoppable right now, it's the duo of Macklemore and Ryan Lewis. We tried to warn you that scooping up those tickets to see them headline the Showbox for the first time with Grieves & Budo, The Physics, and Sol on February 25 should've been a top priority. And when that show sold out--in presale--the folks at Showbox smartly booked a second one for March 5 with support from Blueprint and Grynch. And then that one sold out.
When asked about such an accomplishment for a relatively fresh artist with minimal touring history--not just once but twice--Showbox talent buyer Chad Queirolo's reaction was short and sweet:
Doubly unprecedented and fucking awesome!
It went in 48 hours. I am totally amazed and wish we had consecutive days open to see how many we could sell out in a row. My gut says 4 or 5.
So will there be those extra nights? Queirolo says he'll leave that answer hanging for now--but he didn't say no.
In the meantime, you can check out a behind-the-scenes preview for the "Irish Celebration" music video after the jump, filmed by Stephan Gray and due out later this month.
