Guess the Fighting's Over: Brent Knopf Has Left Menomena

Even after the success of last year's Mines, Brent Knopf announced today that he's jumping the Menomena train. An official statement was posted on Menomena's website today, reading:

After 10 years of fruitful collaboration, Brent Knopf has decided to part ways with Menomena to focus on Ramona Falls and other creative pursuits. We want to thank Brent for his vast contributions over the years and wish him nothing but happiness in all of his future endeavors. All three of us look forward to seeing you soon!
The statement doesn't give much away, but rumors swirled last year of trouble with the band--the three members recorded their individual parts on Mines separately, and when SW's Sara Brickner asked Danny Seim about the rumors of arguments, Seim admitted,

There was so much conflict and so much conflict of interest and so much personal conflict and so much bad communication. And it just magically worked itself out.
Guess it didn't magically work out forever.

Menomena already has several high-profile tour appearances scheduled for 2011, such as SXSW and Coachella. Paul Acott will replace Knopf for the time being.
