Prepare for more from New York's latest indie-pop darlings. Since The Pains of Being Pure at Heart released its eponymous debut last February--which quickly racked up compliments that included a Pitchfork "Best New Music" tag--they've gone on an extensive world tour, and, apparently, worked on some pretty excellent new material. "Heart In Your Heartbreak," the latest track (which is set to drop along with B-side "The One" as a 7"/Single on Dec. 14) is the first taste of their sophomore record Belong due out in March--and it doesn't disappoint. Sounding equal parts sonically ambiguous and power-pop with a perfect dash of driving guitar, this little taste is sure to get you excited for the next record. But in the meantime, they're stopping by The Vera Project this Friday, Nov. 5, at 7:30 p.m. Tickets are $13, and Californian labelmates Weekend support.
