UPDATE: KIRO reports that the driver of the blue Nissan pickup who hit the pedestrians last Thursday night is being held on $250,000 bail. The woman reportedly does not have a Washington state driver's license and preliminary breath tests indicated a blood alcohol level of .30.
Five people crossing First Avenue near Showbox SoDo late Thursday night were stuck by a pickup truck. One woman and one man were leaving an Ingrid Michaelson and Guggenheim Grotto gig when they were hit, according to Sean McAteer, a bartender at Hooverville, a popular post-show watering hole across the street.One woman received life-threatening injuries and sources say she is currently in the intensive care unit at Harborview Medical Center. Her boyfriend and the three other women who were also struck sustained less threatening injuries. Authorities temporarily closed down part of First Ave while the victims and the driver were transported to the hospital.
The female driver of the pickup is currently in SPD custody. The SPD report states she showed signs of alcohol impairment and authorities are still evaluating her for signs of drugs and/or alcohol use. The driver and the two other passengers in the pickup were not attendants of the Ingrid Michaelson concert.
