107.7 The End announced this morning that their annual holiday shebang, Deck the Hall Ball, will be held on Wednesday, December 8, 2010 at WaMu Theater. The quite decent lineup features some old faces and some new:
The Black Keys
Jimmy Eat World
Broken Bells aren't my favorite -- but I'm in the minority, and this sounds like a good chance to check them out if you missed their stop at the Showbox earlier this summer. The Black Keys play an absolutely killer live show, as I attested to not too long ago, and I think I've also made clear on Reverb that Sleigh Bells is one of my favorite new bands to emerge this year -- Derek and Alexis put on a screaming awesome show, and I'm pretty sure the audience at this show will walk away the most impressed by them.
Just the other night, my boyfriend and I spent a couple hours, for no reason, on YouTube watching all of Jimmy Eat World's videos, and they weren't bad! Not as awe-inspiring as I thought they were in college but also not bad. Like this video, where everyone's in their underwear, and has a really nice body. 2001! What a year! I have yet to listen to the Temper Trap, but I know we've got some fans amongst our writers. And Cake... why not? Why the hell not?
