Bowie, you handsome brute
In 1976, David Bowie introduced the world to yet another alternate persona -- the Thin White Duke, a composite character inspired by Buster Keaton, part cabaret, and part Thomas Jerome Newton, the alien he plays in the film The Man Who Fell To Earth. Bowie's new persona coincided with the release of Station to Station, an album that explores everything from electronica to occultism, cocaine to Kabbalah, and Nietzsche to Nazis.

Last month, EMI re-released Station to Station with an eye-popping amount of deluxe add-ons. (Click through to see a photo of it all). The Station to Station Deluxe Edition Box Set includes:

  • CD: Station To Station - RCA CD Master
  • DVD
  • 3 postcards of Bowie in the studio and on stage
  • A 24-page booklet, including never-before-seen photos by Geoff MacCormack, Steve Schapiro, and Andrew Kent
  • 6 panel folded poster
  • CD: 5-track Singles Versions E.P. including previously unreleased version of Station To Station, and for first the time on CD, Word On A Wing
  • 3 x 12" heavyweight vinyl

On Amazon, this treasure trove will run you $150, but we're giving it away for free.

To win, email me at ethompson@seattleweekly.com by tomorrow at 5pm and tell me why you love Station to Station. Entrants will be entered in a drawing to win the prize and the winner will be notified on Wednesday morning.

Good luck!
