For those of you who aren't heading to Tacoma on Saturday to see Lady Gaga, there's the solidly impressive folk and country-minded lineup of No Depression Festival at Marymoor Park. No Depression was born last year with performances by the likes of Jesse Sykes & The Sweet Hereafter, Iron & Wine, and Gillian Welch, and proved to be a huge hit. This year's performers include Irish troubadours The Swell Season, folk legend Lucinda Williams, and locals The Cave Singers, as well as Alejandro Escovedo, Chuck Prophet, Sera Cahoone, and The Maldives.
It's an all-day event -- starts at 1 p.m., and tickets will run you $53.15 -- unless you want to go for free. In which case, email me by tomorrow at noon to be entered in a drawing for a pair of free tickets.
