The Vaselines Ditch Religion For Rock and Roll in "Sex with an X" Music Video

The Vaselines - Sex With An X from Sub Pop Records on Vimeo.

The Vaselines' forthcoming Sex with an X will be the Scottish duo's first proper release in two decades; in their new music video for "Sex with an X," the band attributes the break to religious calling. "Sex with an X" is a sugary, irresistible ditty, and this clip is pure delight; in it, Frances and Eugene, both clad in godly get-ups, get back into the rock spirit by peeing on walls in public, smashing guitars, and ripping through the countryside in a convertible.

Sex with an X will be released on September 14 on Sub Pop Records; I listened to the album all sunny weekend long, and it's fucking great.

The Vaselines will play Neumos on Friday, October 22 as part of the City Arts Festival; Dum Dum Girls will open the show.
