On August 31, Jenny Lewis and her boyfriend Johnathan Rice will release their first official collaboration, I'm Having Fun Now, on Warner Bros. Records. Right now you can check out three tracks from the new album:
"Big Wave" -- features Lewis on lead vocals and has a vintage, surf-rock feel to it.
"Switch Blade" -- is a slow-burner featuring Rice on lead vocals with Lewis harmonizing.
"Scissor Runner" -- is edgier but also features the two airily harmonizing.
I'm hooked on all three songs -- the couple's vocals blend together beautifully, and it's nice to see them sticking to the country-tinged rock that both have spent their solo careers writing. I'm looking forward to seeing them perform at Bumbershoot (they'll be on the Starbucks Stage on Monday, September 6).
After Bumbershoot, the duo will embark on a series of U.S. dates, including shows with Band of Horses, Belle & Sebastian, and Pavement.
