Mount Eerie to Release Eight Years of Rarities on Song Islands Vol. 2

Anacortes' Mount Eerie will release a compilation of rarities and B-Sides on October 19. Mount Eerie is the current moniker and noisier, crunchier rock solo project from the always weird Phil Elverum of Microphones and D+, and you can expect as much noisy and weird from the upcoming Song Islands Vol. 2.

The 31-song collection and 32-page booklet is comprised of limited-release singles, unreleased experiments and outtakes from 2002 to 2009. There are also a few alternate versions of songs, including Lost Wisdom's "O My Heart." Personally, I'm looking forward to the press release's promised "attempt at smooth jazz."

The original Song Islands collection came out eight years ago on K Records under the moniker Microphones, but this edition will be released by Elverum's own P.W. Elverum & Sun.
