Today: Have a Groovy Lunch Downtown at the Harbor Steps with Wheedle's Grove

Even if you didn't see the recent SIFF documentary Wheedle's Groove, but especially if you did, today's opening act of the Out To Lunch summer concert series is a can't-miss show. Wheedle's Groove, an all-star band consisting of some of the top performers in Seattle's late-'60s/early-'70s funk and soul scene that featured bands like Black on White Affair, Cold, Bold, and Together, and Cookin' Bag, plays downtown's Harbor Steps (1st and University; across the street from the Seattle Art Museum) from noon-1:30 p.m.

If the rain stays away, here's a taste of what to expect. This is Robbie Hill, frontman for Robbie Hill's Family Affair. Wear your dancing shoes. MICHAEL MAHONEY
