On Robin Pecknold's cover of the Graham Nash classic, "Be Yourself," the Fleet Foxes frontman shows reverence, but no sign of intimidation. He doesn't completely reinvent the song, but he firmly etches his signature on it. It's got all the makings of a Pecknold/Fleet Foxes entry: gorgeous harmonies, plenty of reverb, just enough percussion (tambourine with a whisper of drums) and rough-strummed acoustic guitars. But there's also a confidence in Pecknold's voice that we didn't hear on Fleet Foxes' LP. And at barely three minutes, he doesn't overstay his welcome. He just drops in, pays his respects, gets out, and makes you wonder when we're gonna hear some more from him.

Graham Nash performs with Crosby, Stills, and Nash at Chateau Ste Michelle on Saturday, June 12. The show is sold out.
