The Arcade Fire's provided some of my favorite Sasquatch memories (they headlined 2005 and 2007's festivals) -- and while the Canadian collective won't be at the Gorge this year, their new single, "The Suburbs" and its B-side, "Month of May" just hit the Web today. The songs will be released as a 12" on June 1.
"The Suburbs" is a surprising pick for a lead single (the band's third full-length is due out later this summer) -- it's got a slow, easygoing pace, not much like the epic fare we're used to from them.
"Month of May" is much more like it - drivingly intense, they sound as fired up as they did on Neon Bible. I vastly prefer this track.
