The Morning Benders' kaleidoscopic new video for "Promises" confirms what many of us already believe: children are evil creatures and are not to be trusted. "Promises" is directed by Focus Creeps (who've also done clips for Girls, Mission of Burma, and Los Campesinos!) and features a pair of 6-year-old Bonnie and Clyde types. These kids spend the video visiting strip clubs, drinking cocktails, smoking cigarettes, and robbing and kidnapping at gunpoint while Chris Chu sings his ominous chorus of "I can't help thinking we grew up too fast." We've seen this kid trick done before, but this one has a pretty gruesome ending.

The Morning Benders just played a stellar show at the Crocodile just a couple weeks ago and will be back in Seattle on May 25 opening for Broken Bells at the Showbox.
