Steppenwolf keyboardist Goldy McJohn will be ringing in his 65th birthday with a public concert at the Hard Rock on April 30, joined onstage by Leon Hendrix and some dudes who used to be in Heart, among others.
That rocks. But you know what rocks even harder? The video for Lionel Richie's "Hello."
We've embedded this masterpiece below, but first, allow us to explain (and therefore spoil, although it'll still be totally worth seeing for yourself) the premise. "Professor Lionel Richie" is an instructor at some sort of arts-oriented college. His mustache, as always, is impeccably groomed, and his afro is teased out so as to resemble a black man's mullet. He's wearing a sweater with rolled up sleeves and a blazer, and yet, he can't seem to muster the courage to chat up an attractive blind student, stalking her in the halls instead (how she can't hear him singing is anyone's guess, as it's made clear that she's not Helen Keller). Finally, he grows enough of a sack to call her, only to pause for several seconds until the "Hello" part of the chorus rolls around (get it?). Somehow, at the end of the song, without ever having seen or touched Professor Richie, the blind girl sculpts his facial features perfectly in a clay bust.
No, really. That's exactly what happens. See--and hear--for yourself:
