Pretty much every Sleater-Kinney fan knows this by now, but Kill Rock Stars announced today that they'll release Corin Tucker's solo album in October. This--along with Quasi's American Gong in February--marks S-K's roundabout return to the label: the band released their last album, 2005's The Woods, on Sub Pop after putting out four records in five years on KRS. Maybe this is a sign that the band's possible reunion and Carrie Brownstein's solo record will find a home on KRS, too.
Here's the official announcement:
We are honored to announce that Kill Rock Stars will be releasing Corin Tucker's first solo record in October 2010. Corin has been a part of the Kill Rock Stars family since the very beginning with her former bands Heavens to Betsy, Sleater-Kinney, and Cadallaca. We are overjoyed to be working with her again. Also performing on the album will be Sara Lund (Unwound) and Seth Lorinczi (Golden Bears).
In the meantime, this video for "You're No Rock 'n' Roll Fun" from 2000's All Hands on the Bad One will have to suffice.
