sleater14.jpg
Sleater-Kinney's Carrie Brownstein is BBC's #35 greatest guitarist of the past 30 years.
BBC Radio's The Axe Factor recently asked listeners to vote for the greatest guitarist of the last 30 years, and after 30,000 votes, the results are in. John Frusciante of the Red Hot Chili Peppers took the top spot with 13.9% of the vote, followed by Slash, Matt Bellamy of Muse, Johnny Marr, and Tom Morello. It's BBC, so the list is pretty full of names like the Arctic Monkeys, Pulp, Manic Street Preachers, and Bloc Party, but Seattle and the Northwest are proudly represented by Kurt Cobain at #20, Mike McCready at #23, and Carrie Brownstein at #35.

This is the full top ten:

1. John Frusciante

2. Slash

3. Matt Bellamy

4. Johnny Marr

5. Tom Morello

6. Kirk Hammett

7. Jonny Greenwood

8. Prince

9. Jack White

10. Peter Buck
