A.M. Music News: Notorious B.I.G., Guru, Sly Stone, and Other Folks We Miss

-- Rolling Stone: The Black Crowes' Dec. 5 set at Showbox Sodo will be the band's last local show before they start another indefinite hiatus just two weeks later.

-- MTV: Gang Starr's Guru--born Keith Elam--has died of cancer. He was 43.

-- New York Times: Jon Pareles on Sly Stone's Coachella set: "Mostly, he sat in an office chair, rolling back and forth between two keyboards that he pecked at, complaining about the equipment." I kinda don't wish to see his name on the Bumbershoot lineup anymore.

-- Spinner: The mother of Notorious B.I.G. has had her wrongful death lawsuit thrown out. Damn, when he was killed in 1997, I was just a kid, and had no idea how young 24 was.
